ConFooBio was an interdisciplinary research project at the University of Stirling resolving conflicts between food security and biodiversity conservation under uncertainty.

Pen&Paper Science worked with the research team to translate the findings and key concepts from four scientific papers into engaging visual narratives. The process involved close collaboration with researchers, students and practitioners to ensure that each illustration was scientifically accurate while remaining accessible to non-specialist audiences.

The resulting illustrations were used across scientific publications and digital communications. Two of the illustrations were subsequently adapted into a series of educational posters developed in collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society Cambodia and installed at Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary.

The project demonstrates how visual storytelling can extend the reach and practical relevance of scientific research, connecting academic findings with conservation practice and field-based audiences.
